Dean M. Garman age 80 of Alliance died at Aultman Hospital on January 1, 2004.
He was born July 21, 1923 in Massillon, to Gladys E. Nye and moved to Alliance in 1995 from Canton, after being born and raised in Massillon.
A 1941 graduate of Washington High School, Mr. Garman was employed as a crane operator at Eaton Manufacturing in Massillon for 23 years.
He was a member of First Church of God in Alliance, and former member of First Church of God in Massillon. He was also a former member of Springwood Lake Campground, where he and his wife enjoyed spending time.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie M. (Wendling), whom he married July 31, 1965, one sister Alice N. Mross of Massillon, one brother Harold (Bette) Garman of Houston, Texas, one daughter Darlene (Mike) Ferguson of Alliance, two sons Bill (Marilyn) Williamson of Salem, and Scot Williamson of Newton Falls, Ohio, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday January 5 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Mark McCord officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
