Dean L. Lautzenheiser

February 19, 1942 — June 20, 2007

Dean L. Lautzenheiser, age 65, of Damascus, died at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born February 19, 1942 in East Rochester, Ohio to Russell and Eleanor (Devers) Lautzenheiser and resided in the Damascus area all of his married life.
He was employed for 28 years as a truck driver for Purity and Superior Dairy and was a member of Damascus Friends Church.
Dean enjoyed restoring and refinishing antiques and collecting Ford Model A's and Model T's. He loved gardening and his pride and joy were his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Louise J. Denny Lautzenheiser, whom he married August 31, 1962; daughter Lanette (Larry) Elasivich of Salem; sons, Larry (Cindy) Lautzenheiser and Dale (Joy) Lautzenheiser, both of Salem: grandchildren, Jared, Mitch, Anissa, Ellie, Madison and Jesse; his mother, Eleanor Cox of Sebring; brothers, Floyd (Patty) Lautzenheiser of Homeworth, Robert Lautzenheiser of Berlin Center, Walter (Donna) Lautzenheiser of Salem; sister, Darlene (Clinton) Whaley of Columbiana; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Glenn and Daniel; and one sister, Marilyn.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor John Ryser of Damascus Friends Church officiating. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Damascus Friends Cemetery.
