Dean Allen Mingus (53), loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 10, 2014, at the Alliance Community Hospital Emergency Room.
Dean was born June 13, 1961, in Salem , OH, the son of Donald and Barbara (Arkenburgh) Mingus. He was a lifelong resident of Stark and Columbiana counties, graduating from Canton South High School in 1980. He was a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator for the past 26 years. He was also a member of the Ohio National Guard for 6 years where he served as a military policeman.
Dean enjoyed spending quality time with his grandson, fishing, reading and, most of all, playing video games on his computer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald and is survived by his loving wife Brenda (Pedicord) Mingus, daughters Megan Mingus of Cleveland, OH, and Jordan (Stefan) Hensel and grandson Larrik Hensel of Canton, OH. He is also survived by his mother Barbara Mingus of Malvern, brothers Donald Jr. (Edie), Richard (Michelle), Frank (Mary), Raymond (Rena) and sisters Cathy Frost, Tammy (Kenny) Court and Sharon Mingus. Dean is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 11AM to 1PM Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at the Cassady-Turkle- Christian Funeral Home at 75 South Union Avenue, Alliance, OH. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Lee Iden officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Louisville, OH. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
Dean will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
