Debra A. Barker age 49 of Alliance died on Thursday Dec. 18, 2003 at High Point Regional Hospital in High Point North Carolina.
She was born March 14, 1954 in Alliance, to Ayers and Mary I. (Linegar) Bryant. Mrs. Barker attended Alliance High School and was employed as a cook at the former Quincey's Steak House.
She is survived by two daughters Angela (Rojelio) Lopez and Christina (David) Gandee and one son John (Angie) Barker Jr., all of Alliance, her step-mother Carol Bryant of Alliance, four grandchildren Roy, Jonathon, Courtney and Jordann, three sisters Linda (Vond) Barker of High Point N.C., Sherry (James) George, and Rebecca Bryant, both of Alliance, and six brothers Bob (Betty) Bryant, Dave Bryant, Danny (Susie) Bryant, Terry Bryant, Steve (Sandi) Bryant, and Toney Bryant, all of Alliance, three step-sisters Charnell Anderson and Cheryl Heslep, both of Alliance, and Theresa (Ray) Barker of Conroe, Texas, and one step-brother Robert (Chasidy) Burchfield of Alliance.
Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Ray Barker, whom she married Dec. 2, 1969, and who died Jan. 13, 1989, one son Tommy, and one grandson David Gandee Jr., and one infant brother Leslie Bryant.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Chester Bryant officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
