Dennis R. Gibbs, age 64, of Minerva, passed away unexpectedly at 8:19 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012.
He was born January 26, 1948 in Akron, Ohio to Ernest Gibbs and Ann (Gregory) Gibbs Cramer.
A graduate of Ellet High School, Dennis was employed for more than 35 years at Goodyear Aerospace/Lockheed Martin.
A U. S. Army Ranger, Dennis was a Vietnam veteran, and was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He was a member of the American Legion and N.R.A.
Survivors include his Mother, Ann (Claude) Cramer; children, Christine D. (Monty) Donohew, Stephanie L. (Jimmy) Bowen, Kathleen (Scott) Bauer, Carri Gibbs-Viering, Arch Gibbs, and Sean Gibbs; grandchildren, Leah, Joshua, Jeremy, Bobby, Joey, Jimmy, Lilli, Calli, Coltin, Jenna, Raymond, Arianna, and Mia; and companion, Dawn Kapper.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Gibbs, and sister, Karen Brandt.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Union Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Grace Berlo officiating. Friends may call the hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gregory Family Homestead.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
