Dennis W. "Denny" Rhome, age 58 of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord at 4:15 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by his family, after an extensive battle with leukemia. He was born April 2, 1956 in Alliance, Ohio to George and Carol (Stewart) Rhome. A 1975 graduate of Alliance High School, Dennis worked for the family business, K&D Truck Service and YRC, formerly known as Roadway Express where he earned a place among the YRC Freight Million Milers, for having 1 Million accident-free miles. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Denny served on church council, was an usher, communion assistant, long time youth advisor, cooked for church dinners and breakfasts and played with the former church softball league. He belonged to the Dante Club, was an avid bowler for many years, enjoyed geneology, and most importantly loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his parents, George and Carol Rhome, wife, Deborah (Castina) Rhome, whom he married June 28, 1975, children, Jeremy (Bethany) Rhome, Gina (Josh) Falconer, Joshua (Janet) Rhome; sister, Sandra (Mark) Poe, brothers, Kenny (Kim) Rhome, Roger (Tracy) Rhome, Ronnie (Missy) Rhome; grandchildren, Brennan (Desiree), Taylor, Allison, Corbyn, Bergen and Dominic; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan, and nephew, Ronald D. Rhome Jr. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with The Rev. Timothy Muse officiating. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
