Dewey M. "Mike" Elkins

Dewey M. Elkins of Massillon, Ohio, known as Mike to his friends and family, died on Wednesday January 7th at the age of 58. Mike was born on November 20, 1956 in Cadiz, Ohio to Carl and Ferbie Elkins and was the youngest of 10 children. Mike was an active member of several Massillon area social clubs, but most enjoyed family gatherings, walking, barbeques and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is survived by his loving wife, Lila B. Elkins of Minerva, Ohio, his five children Stephanie M. Messman of Massillon, Christy L. Cole of Minerva, Jamie M. Elkins of Tampa, Florida, Brandy J. Elkins of Akron, and Stacy R. Elkins of Canton. Mike also leaves behind a legacy of 6 grandchildren, Brian Little, Paige Little, Brent Little, Bradley Little, Jacob Messman and Grace Messman, who will always love and will miss their grandpa.
Friends and family are invited to come together and celebrate Mike's life on Monday January 26th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Services will be held at Maranatha Ministries Church of Christ located at 14289 Edison Street NE in Alliance, Ohio 44601. In lieu of flowers, Mike's family suggests a memorial contribution to Maranatha Ministries or to the charity of your choice. Mike will be missed and will always be loved.
