Dianna Ashburn

Dianna Ashburn, age 74, passed away on November 3, 2023.

She was born on June 17, 1949, in Alliance, to Melvin and Lucille (Stone) Hodgekin.

A graduate of Alliance High School, Dianna worked for the Stark County Board of Education in a variety of administrative roles.

She attended Christ United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing crafts and was a great cook.  She especially enjoyed travelling with her late husband to their property in Montana.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, David (JoAnn) Hodgekin; sister in law, Debbie Hodgekin; nephews, Scott (Kris) Blair, Steve Blair, David B.(Brinda) Hodgekin and Jeremy (Amy) Hodgekin; great nieces and nephews, Erin, Bradley, Jake (Amber), Davey, Jake (Amber), Jonny (Addy) and Stefany; and great-great niece and nephew, Elliana and Brinley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Ashburn whom she married on December 21, 1978 and who passed away on April 19, 2009; sister, Jean Carol Blair; and brother, Rodney Melvin Hodgekin.

A funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday November 9, 2023 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.  Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday November 8 at the funeral home.

Dianna’s family would like to extend a special thank you to dear friends, Marie, Kristen, Andy and Alicia for their special care.  Also, a special thank you to the staff at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital ER, ICU and Hospice and the staff at Copeland Oaks and Crandall Medical Center for their extraordinary care.
