On Oct. 10, 2022 Dick Lee Vickers of Louisville, OH went to be with the Lord. Born Sept. 10, 1955 to the late Richard and Pearl (Mattern) Vickers, Dick was the middle of seven children; Victor (Patty), Terry (late Joyce), Darlene (late Jack Gobley), Sherry (Ernie McCracken), Sandy (Russell Bean), and Russell (Lisa).
Having met the love of his life in 4-H as kids, on Oct. 7, 1978 he married Cindi (Rohn) Vickers and they celebrated 44 years together. He was a dedicated father of four kids; Quentin (Emily), Nathan (Shannon), Hannah (Todd Gillilan) and Brodi (Michelle); beloved grandfather of nine; Skylar, Ryley, Korbin, Kylie, Kelsie, Kenlie, Farrah, Layla and Zebediah; and “Uncle Dick” to a multitude of nieces and nephews and beyond.
A graduate of Marlington High School, Dick received his Bachelor of Vocational Education from Kent State. He was a member of IOUE, International Ohio Union Operating Engineers Local #18, retiring after working as a heavy machine operator.
In addition to being a man of many talents, he was an auctioneer, farmer, and rodeo cowboy throughout his life.
He was a member of Marlboro Assembly of God, and the International Professional Rodeo Association.
Having never met a stranger, anywhere and everywhere he went he could be found chatting and telling stories of his family and adventures. His list of friends is too numerous to count.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 15th at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
Family and friends are welcome to come share stories and memories from 5-7 p.m. Friday, October 14th at the funeral home.
Dick will be laid to rest at Marlboro Cemetery.
