Donald A. Eakins, age 84, of Alliance, died at 6:04 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at McCrea Manor Nursing Home.
He was born August 3, 1926, in Mason City, W.Va. to James E. and Georgia (Griggs) Eakins.
Donald was a U.S. Army and U.S. Navy veteran serving in WWII and the Korean War. He was employeed by American Steel Foundries and retired after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his loving companion Paula A. Moore of Sebring and a brother; Charles Eakins of Alliance and many nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Karl Stonebraker. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, Ohio 44601.
