Donald Hons

Donald Hons, age 94, passed away on January 30, 2025.

He was born February 8, 1930 in North Braddock, Pennsylvania to Clarence V. and Sarah E. (Henderson) Hons and lived in Alliance since 1937. 

Mr. Hons retired from Alliance Machine Company, after 36 years of service. 

He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and life member of the American Legion Post 574 in North Georgetown. A U.S. Air Force Veteran, Don served during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou (Bruchfield) Hons, whom he married September 27, 1996; daughters, Kathaleen (Robert) Schafer, Pamela DeBee, Jodie Turner; step-son, Randy (Rita) Teeters, step­daughters, Lori (Bryan) Harrold, Kim (Kevin) Edwards; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and five great-great­grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Jo Ann (Simons), whom he married in 1951, and who died in 1957; Dorothy (Simons) whom he married in 1958, and who died in 1992; brothers, Paul A. Hons, Jerry M. Hons, and Robert C. Hons; sister, Dorothy McConnell; and son-in-law, Brian DeBee. 

A funeral service will be held at St. Pauls Lutheran Church on Monday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Reverend Tim Muse will officiate.
