Donald R. Keen, age 90, of Sebring, died at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Crandall Medical Center. He was born December 30, 1917 in Alliance, Ohio to Joseph Ross and Mabel (Hartzell) Keen. A 1937 graduate of Alliance High School, Mr. Keen attended Indiana Tech School and was employed as a Pattern Maker for Alliance Machine Co. for 39 years. A member of Christ United Methodist Church since 1926, Mr. Keen served as an usher for more than 30 years, and was a member of the Crusaders and Friendship I Sunday School Classes. He was a charter member of Boy Scout Troop 50, of the church, and member of the American Legion Post 166. Mr. Keen was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U. S. Navy during the Pacific Theatre aboard the U.S.S. Columbia. Survivors include his wife, Pauline (Baab) Keen, whom he married Feb. 3, 1945; sons, Timothy A. Keen of South Bloomfield, and Robert M. (Peggy) Keen of Coshocton; daughters, Susan (Arthur) Johanson of Damascus, and Deborah (Carl) Anderson of Hartville; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Tiffany, Amanda, Melissa, Laura, Barbara, Andrew and Gregory; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Beverly) Keen of Fountain Hills, Az; sister, Virginia Robart of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Sally; and infant grandson, James Arthur Johanson. Services will be held at Noon Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. David Hostetler officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
