Donald L. McCann

Donald Lawrence McCann, age 79, of Alliance died at 2:13 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at Roselawn Terrace. He was born, November 30, 1928 in Alliance, to Basil and Emma (Good) McCann and was a lifelong resident. Donald was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and was a life member of the DAV. A 1948 graduate of Alliance High School, Donald was employed at United Co-Op. He is survived by his four daughters, Jeanette McCann of Alliance, Gail (Larry) Pressacco of Massillon, Joyce (Dan) Roller of Alliance, and Kimberly (Kim) Romigh of Massillon; ten grandchildren; thirteen great- grandchildren; a sister, June Hoopes of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jane (Leech) McCann, whom he married in 1952 and who died in 1990; a sister, Dorothy Wiley; and brothers, Harold, Delbert and Bernard. A Private Family Service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Highland Memorial Park with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
