Donald R. Long

Donald R. Long, age 66, of Alliance passed away on July 27, 2021 at Woodlawn Compassionate Care.

He was born on October 2, 1954 at Aultman Hospital in Canton to George and Jacqueline Long. Don also had a step-father James Richmond.

After graduating from Canton South in 1972, he began working in the steel industry. He married Gloria (Eglie) Long on November 14, 1973. Don enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and the company of many friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and his parents. He also grieved the loss of three brothers, Bill, Eddie and John.

He is survived by his son, Kevin (Megan) Long; two grandsons, Broden and Grayson; one step-granddaughter, Alexandra; one brother, Phil; two sisters, Faye and Margaret; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

A private memorial picnic will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the funeral home to be used at the family’s discretion.
