Donald R. Mohr, age 85, of Alliance, passed away at 9:09 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Aultman Hospital.
He was born March 9, 1929, in Alliance, to Lawrence and Hazel (Hamlin) Mohr.
Donald attended Alliance Public Schools and was a self-employed lifelong brick mason with Mohr Construction.
He attended Damascus Friends Church and Faith Family Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having serving during World War II, and member and past commander of the American Legion Post No. 166, and member of DAV Chapter 50 and VFW Post No. 1036.
Donald enjoyed his profession and especially loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his companion, Pat Mohr of Alliance; five daughters, Connie (Ken) Stanley, Tammy Zwick and Shelly (Albert) Johnston, all of Alliance, Susie (Randy) Kaiser of Homeworth and Rose (Steven) Ridgway, of Alliance; three sons, Dave Mohr of Alliance, Joseph Mohr of Canton and Jay (Vanessa) Mohr of N. Canton; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Paul "Butch" (Connie) Mohr of Alliance; and two sisters, Carol (Lon) Strabala of Ravenna and Dorothy "Doe" (Glenn) Emmons of Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Larry and Jim Mohr; two brothers, Pete and Ron Mohr; sister, Joan Burbridge; and former wife, Helen.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Brendlinger of Damascus Friends Church officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
