Donald Lee Thompson, age 54, of Beloit, went to be with the Lord at 11:50 a.m. November 16, 2008 at his home after a brief illness.
He was born January 16, 1954 in Alliance, to James R. and Marian (Bartlett) Thompson.
A 1972 graduate of West Branch High School, Don was employed at the Timken Company. He was a member of the Community Bible Church in Westville and a member of the Golden Lodge Union #1123 in Canton, United Steelworkers of America, AFL-CIO and AARP.
Don was an Ohio Sports fan. He especially enjoyed being with his family and vacationing with them. He also enjoyed and loved his animals.
Survivors include his wife, Janice L. (Mudrick) Thompson, whom he married May 22, 1981; his daughter, Bonnie L. Thompson and his son, James R. Thompson, both of the home; sister, Jean (Donald) McIlvain of Beloit; brother, James A. (Carol) Thompson of Salem, George O. (Susie) Thompson of Alliance and Jeffrey R. (Jodi) Thompson of Alliance and many nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his twin sister, Deborah L. Fish, who died in 1982.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rod Doran officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
