Donald Lee Briggs

Donald Lee Briggs, age 92, of Alliance, passed away at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born February 24, 1927, in Sebring, Ohio, to Bert and Wilma (Herrington) Briggs.

Donald was a 1947 graduate of Sebring McKinley High School. He was formerly employed by Royal China in Sebring as a production scheduler until his retirement in 1986.

He was a member of the First Immanuel United Church of Christ. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and playing with his dog, Sweetie. He also enjoyed working in his yard and observing nature around him.

Donald was a United States Navy veteran having served during World War II.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lois (Emmons) Briggs whom he married June 15, 1952; two daughters, Amy Briggs of Pataskala and Becky (Mark) Lamancusa of Pickerington; and two grandchildren, Alec (Amy) Lamancusa and Abby (Arek) Hively.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his two brothers, John and Roger; and a sister, Martha Kilbreath.

A private family service will be held at a later date with Pastor Neal Mann officiating.
