Donna Jean Brown age 79 of Copeland Oaks, and formerly of Alliance, died Saturday July 5, 2003 at Crandall Medical Center.
She was born December 14, 1923 in Alliance to Clifford V. and Elizabeth M. (McKay) Goddard. Donna Jean graduated from Alliance High School in 1942, and attended Mt. Union College. She was employed as the secretary to the Alliance School System's Superintendent's Schafer, Hammond, Law, Wollam and Hamrick until retiring in 1981.
Mrs. Brown was a member of First Christian Church, and the Womens Fellowship. She was also a member and past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #296 of Alliance, and former member of Quota Club and Search Light Club. She was also one of the founders of the Alliance Secretarial Association.
Mrs. Brown is survived by three nephews, two nieces, one stepson John B. (Cathy) Brown of Ravenna, one stepdaughter Cathleen (Richard) Rufener of Ravenna, and four step grandchildren Erin, Rachel, Rob and Dan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Ronald Brown, whom she married June 10, 1978, and who died Oct. 28, 1995, four brothers and one sister.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday July 8, 2003 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Craig L. Jones officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Order of Eastern Star Services will be conducted by Chapter #296 at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Alliance City Cemetery.
