Donna Jean Floyd

Donna Jean (Clayton) Floyd age 72, of Alliance, succumbed to cancer at 1:05 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2015, at her home, with her husband and special niece Robyn Utt by her side.
Born April 29, 1943, in Alliance, Ohio, to Howard (Doc) (1909-1985) and Ethel (Linerode) Clayton (1916-2007), Donna resided in Alliance and Lexington Township most of her life. She was a 1961 graduate of Alliance High School and married David R. Floyd, Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1962, at Science Hill Church, where she was an active member, and assisted with decorating the church.
Donna was employed for 35 years at The Alliance Review in the commercial printing department until it was closed. She continued to work with fellow displaced employees at the newly formed Alliance Commercial Printing Company and later worked at Jarman Printing Company.
She enjoyed working outdoors at home in her flower beds, as well as reading, going to estate and garage sales, crafting, sewing, decorating and genealogy. She collected generations of photos and history of the Clayton, Linerode and Floyd families over the years.
Being an only child, Donna was very close to her cousins, Tom (Bonnie) Linerode of Marlboro, in loving memory of Dr. Phillip Linerode and his widow, Kathy Linerode of Texas, Lori (Jerry) Linerode Dickerhoof of Louisville, Keith (Barbara) Linerode of Marlboro, and Lyle Linerode of Heath, Ohio; other cousins, Quma Joy (Huff) Lindemood of Florida, Janell (Huff) Webster of Georgia, Kay (Donna) Vaughan and Kenneth Vaughan, both of Hartville. She also leaves behind a long list of cherished nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her stillborn son, David Howard Floyd; maternal grandparents, E. Roy and Etta (Fox) Linerode; paternal grandparents, Lola Belle (Hoshoer) and Dalton Clayton; aunts and uncles, Robert and Lona Belle (Dennis) Linerode, Mable (Clayton) Vaughan, Raymond Vaughan, Marcella (Sally Clayton) and Willard Huff; parents-in-law, Esther Floyd and Ralph Floyd; sister-in-law, Judy Breit; brothers-in-law, Rodney Breit and James Carroll; cousin, Barbara Vaughan Clunen and Dr. Phillip Linerode.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathan Truax officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
