Doris Barnhouse

Doris (Stanley) Barnhouse, age 78, formerly of Alliance, passed from this world and entered healed and whole, into the arms of Jesus, at 12:47 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Wesley Ridge Retirement Community in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
She was born December 3, 1937, in Salem, Ohio, to Orlan and Lydia (Miller) Stanley.
A 1955 graduate of the former Goshen High School, Doris had been employed by the former Ohio Bell for 36 years until her retirement. She later was employed with Rodman Public Library on the bookmobile for 15 years retiring in 2006.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and its various committees and member in the Order of the Eastern Star of Alliance for 60 years.
Survivors include her husband Thomas "Tim" E. Barnhouse, whom she married November 5, 1966; daughters, Susan E. Barnhouse and Katharine A. (Flip) Pack, both of Pataskala, Ohio; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Rebecca, Lydia and Samantha; brother, Dewey (Jody) Stanley of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Donald and sister-in-law, Nancy.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephanie Lee and Rev. L. Chris Martin co-officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
