Doris C. Tribley

December 1, 1912 — October 7, 2006

Doris Noble Curtiss Tribley, age 93, of Alliance and recently of Copeland Oaks in Sebring, passed away Oct. 7th.
She was born Dec. 1, 1912 at Columbus, Ohio to Frank Curtiss and Blanche (Sassaman) Curtiss.
She was a graduate of Alliance High School, and also attended Mount Union and Malone Colleges. She was employed by the former Sunnyside Dairy, then later the M. O'Neil Co., of Alliance and Akron, retiring in 1967. She was later employed by Stark County Welfare as a Case Worker, retiring in 1978.
Doris was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church for approximately 50 years and was the first woman elected to the Vestry. She was also superintendent of the Sunday School for 14 years. She was active in the Alliance Senior Center and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
Doris had a great love of family, children and community. She enjoyed clowning, entertaining at hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and senior citizen events as "Noodles" the clown. She was also an avid gardener and knitter.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Corinne Tribley in June, 2006, three sisters and their spouses, Eleanor and Robert Mansfield, Esther and Gus Limstrom, Ruth and Wilton Lapp, one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Peggy Curtiss, and one nephew, Douglas Mansfield.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Kenneth and Janet (Curtiss) Worth, Michael and Patricia (Curtiss) Draa, Richard Curtiss Jr., Douglas and Kathy Curtiss, Larry Lapp, Adel and Eleanor (Mansfield) Gawdat, Rae and Katharine (Mansfield) Garnar, Roberta (Mansfield) Williams, Bruce and Sandra Mansfield and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Fairmount Memorial Park with Pastor Faye Grose officiating, with interment to follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
