Doris I. French, age 87, of Alliance, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Minerva Elder Care.
She was born November 7, 1921 in Alliance to Frank and Edith (Allen) Greiner.
Mrs. French was a 1939 graduate of Alliance High School and was formerly employed at Taylorcraft in Alliance. She was a member of the First Christian Church, a loving mother and enjoyed reading and crafts.
Survivors include her three sons, Alan (Judith) French and Randy (Charlotte) French both of Minerva, and Denis K. (Patricia) French of Alliance; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Olin L. French, whom she married July 25, 1943 and who died March 30, 1998; one son, Gary French; one daughter; Sheri Pisanello, one sister, Betty Rotuna; and three brothers, Frank Greiner Jr., Levarn Greiner and Norman Powers.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Bruno officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to The First Christian Church, 1141 W. Beech St. Alliance, Ohio 44601 or to a charity of the donors choice.
