Doris H. Reichart, age 93, of Sebring, passed away peacefully at 9:30 a.m., Friday, November 22, 2013 at her residence.
A lifelong resident of the Salem/Alliance area, she was born January 20, 1920 in Beloit to Ross and Ethel (Burkey) McEldowney.
Doris graduated from Goshen Union High School in 1938 and Alliance Business College in 1939 majoring in secretarial management.
On December 20, 1940, she married the love of her life, Grant W. Reichart, son of Paul and Addie (Weingart) Reichart. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1998.
She worked at the Electric Furnace Company in Salem from 1942 to 1945 while Grant served in the United States Air Force in the Southwest Pacific during World War II. She retired in 1982 from E.W. Bliss Company in Salem where she worked for 20 years as a secretary in the purchasing department.
Doris was a devoted member of the Community Bible Church in Beloit where she enjoyed many activities with the Golden Oldies. She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. Until her death she rode her stationary bicycle and walked every day (weather permitting.)
Doris is survived by her loving daughters, Judy Reichart of Alliance and Jan (Larry) Zielke and Jill (Doug) Boyle, both of Damascus. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Bryan (Abbey Bacconi) Boyle of Salem and Christa (Chris) Forte of Yonkers, N.Y; two great grandchildren, Grant and Grace Boyle; and three step great-grandchildren, Alinee, Stella and Sofia Bacconi.
Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2013 at Community Bible Church 18146 U.S. Rt. 62. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the church, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be at Damascus Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Bible Memorial Fund Community Bible Church 18146 U.S. Rt. 62, Beloit OH 44609.
