Doris A. Tosha, age 86, of Alliance, died at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at her home.
She was born September 28, 1924 in Fayetteville, North Carolina to Frank and Belle (Bullard) Davis.
A 1941 Massey Hill High School, Mrs. Tosha was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church for more than 25 years. She also belonged to the K of C Auxiliary, and enjoyed collecting thimbles and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise (Robert) Smith of East Sparta and Cynthia Studt of Broadview Heights; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Katherine Batten of Ashville, NC, and Alice Edwards of Shalimar, FL: and one brother, Harvey Davis, of Fayetteville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bruce Wayne Williford in 1996 and an infant son, Gerald Paul Tosha; grandson, Brandon Williford in 1996; brothers, Charles Davis, Robert Davis and Leon Davis; and her husband, Elmer P. Tosha, whom she married April 13, 1946, and who died May 1, 2008.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
