Dorothy Mae Allen, age 94, of Alliance, died at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Altercare of Alliance.
She was born January 11, 1914 in Alliance, Ohio to Walter A. and Pearl M. (Hutson) Toalston and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Allen graduated in 1932 from Alliance High School, was employed by Alliance Machine and later retired in 1979 from Rodman Public Library after working as a Library Assistant.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 296, and the Pythian Sisters.
Survivors include her children, Richard K. Allen of Paris, Ohio and Janet B. Buchanan of Alliance; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter G. Allen, whom she married in 1936, and who died Aug. 8, 1985; one brother, Donald Toalston, and one sister, Ethel Gray.
Private memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Memorial Park with Pastor Pam Bruno and Sue Dehoff officiating, with interment to follow.
