Dorothy M. Brooks, age 78, of Alliance, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born October 24, 1926 in Homeworth, Ohio to Frank and Anna (Ripple) Johnson, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Brooks was employed by Dick and Dinah's Restaurant as a Cook, in addition to being a homemaker.
Survivors include six sons, Bob (Becky) Harper of Chester, W.Va., Lane Lieber, of Lisbon, Tom Brooks, George (Cathy) Brooks, John (Michelle) Brooks, and Jerry (Geraldine) Brooks, all of Alliance; five daughters, JoAnn (Butch) Bell of Washingtonville, Oh., Karen (Charles) Williamson of Alliance, Linda "Mary" (Larry) Gillispie, of Huntington, W.Va., Sandy (Bob) LeViseur, of Zion, Il, and Judy Moncada, of Alliance; 35 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Carl) Bailey of Alliance, and Florence (Clyde) Dotson of Salem; four brothers, Harry Johnson, of Pa., Robert Johnson of East Liverpool, Lester Johnson, of Wa., and Leonard Johnson of Pa., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, Albert Brooks, in 1995; three sisters, Elaine, Evelyn and Margaret; and two brothers, Fred and Owen.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Bailey officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Franklin Square Cemetery.
