Dorothy J. Cook

Dorothy J. (Behner) Cook, age 92, of Salem, passed away at 12:20 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born December 7, 1921, in Homeworth, Ohio, to Harry S. and Blanche P. (Jackson) Behner.
Dorothy was a 1940 graduate of Goshen High School and was owner operator of Kut and Kurl Beauty Shop in Sebring. She also was employed with Lewis Engineering and Manufacturing Company for 22 years.
Survivors include her brothers, Dwight R. Behner of Florida and Donald J. Behner and Bruce M. Behner, both of Salem.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter H. Cook whom she married March 20, 1959 and who died August 8, 1993; and a brother, Harold E. Behner.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 6, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rich Thewlis officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
