Dorothy H. Shekels

Dorothy Helen Shekels, age 85 of Alliance, died at 9:39 p.m. July 15, 2005 at Oakhill Manor. She was born October 17th, 1919 in Belmont County, OH to Herbert Foster and Helen Gertrude (Beckett) Foster and lived in Alliance most of her life.
Mrs. Shekels worked at the former Taylorcraft Company and as a synchronized swimming coach at the Canton Jewish Center for 35 years before retiring.
She is survived by her son, Carl "Gary" (Janie) Shekels of North Canton, OH, her daughter, Pamela J. (John) Bandy of Alliance, one sister, Ida Louise Tournoux of Alliance, one brother, Gerald Foster of Alliance, five grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Shekels was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Clarence Shekels, whom she married December 1938, and who died May 13, 1971, two brothers, Kenneth Foster and John Sherman Foster, and one sister-in-law Louise "Jonsie" Foster.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cassady-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Delaney Young officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
