Dorothy A. Lide, age 90 of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and formerly of Alliance, died at 6:15 a.m. June 23, 2005 at Kitty Allen Hospice Care Center.
Dorothy was born and lived most of her life in Alliance and Westville Lake. She was preceded in death by parents Anna and Edward Kelly of Alliance, husband, R.L. Lide, sisters, Alice Kime of Alliance, Evelyn Rutter of Westville Lake and Ethel King of Sandusky.
Dorothy had been employed at General Electric in Niles as an assembler until moving to Alliance, she then worked at Alliance Manufacturing, McCaskey Register and Alliance Lift-A-Door. She was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church before moving to Goldsboro.
She was the former Columbia County Game Warden, and wrote a column for the Salem News, called "Outdoor Life."
Survivors include one son, James of Newberry, Florida, and one daughter, Georgia McWilliams of Goldsboro, North Carolina.
