Dorothy, beloved and treasured gift from God.

She shed her earthly body and gained her heavenly body on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Dorothy Pearl Fortner Madry was born to Marshal and Fannie Mae Fortner on September 16, 1939 in Toxey, Alabama.

She married Luther Earl Madry Sr. May 26, 1978. Dorothy was deeply committed to her family, faith and church family.

She was accomplished and held a master’s degree from Denver University and was a licensed social worker. She served on several church committees and was a licensed missionary. She was a faithful member of Grace Tabernacle COGIC of Courtland, Alabama.

Mrs. Missionary Dorothy Madry “Dot” leaves enduring love and a living legacy. She gave birth to (8) children, Nathaniel Crump Jr (deceased), Duncan Crump of  Wasilla, Alaska, Lisa Jackson (Mark, deceased) of Burlington, North Carolina, Edward Crump (Teresa deceased) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lola Crump-Harris (Barry) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Naola Brown (Charles) of Madison, Alabama, Vontreal Crump of Birmingham, Alabama and Dorothea Mitchell (Jimmy) of Hutton, Texas.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her son, Nathaniel Crump Jr; parents; and brothers, Lawrence Fortner, Benny Kirksey, Marshall Fortner Jr., Monque Fautner, Jeff Fautner, and George Fautner. Also proceeded by: sisters, Ann Lee Snell, Cathelma Fortner, Nancy Ford and Alice Snow.

She is survived by her husband, (7) children, (21) grandchildren and (17) great-grandchildren; sisters, Ola Riddle, Lola Vee Kelly and Naola Fearrington; and brother, Roosevelt Fortner.

Dorothy, was a humble servant of God, mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. “Dot” is greatly loved and will be missed by all, especially her family and friends.

Services will be held at Noon Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Temple of Faith Church of God in Christ 1221 E. Patterson St. in Alliance with Bishop Dr. Nick H. Myers Jr.  officiating. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, OH 44601.
