Dorothy J. Mathews age 76 went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2003 following an extended illness.
Born August 2, 1926 in Newton Falls, Ohio, she was the daughter of John and Josephine (Cheslok) Rogos. Mrs. Mathews lived in Alliance since 1967, after moving from Newton Falls, Ohio.
A graduate of Newton Falls High School, she was employed by Marks and Taylor Realtors of Louisville, and later retired in sales from Western Southern Insurance Company in 1992.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are one daughter Cindy (Terry) Wahl of Canton, one grandson Rob (Lisa) Ramsier of Alliance, one granddaughter Christy Ramsier of Canton, one great-grandson Caleb Ramsier, three brothers Robert (Shirley) Rogos of Farmdale, Don (Daisy) Rogos and Ralph Rogos, both of Brockway, Pa., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Monte Mathews, five sisters Bertha Hanchik, Anne Rice, Ruth Smith, Louise Swartz, Marie Champlin, and two brothers Franz Rogos and Tony Rogers.
Burial will be at Newton Falls Cemetery.
