Dorothy Jane Philpot, age 88 of Beloit and formerly of Alliance, died at 7 p.m. Sunday January 23, 2005 at Pleasant View North Retirement Center in Salem.
She was born February 6, 1916 in Hazelwood, Pennsylvania to James and Blanche (Clair) Heacock, and lived most of her life in the Alliance area.
Mrs. Philpot was employed as a packer and inspector at the Sebring plant of Ferro, and formerly worked for Gem Clay Refractory, retiring in 1981.
She attended Westville Congregational Christian Church, and was a member of the Alliance Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include one sister, Gladys Cibula of Antioch, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Philpot, whom she married in January 1980, and who died in 1982, and one sister, Claire Rocki.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
