Dorothy L. Ramser, age 88 of Alliance, died at 4:03 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital.
Mrs. Ramser was born June 25, 1920 in Washington Twp., Ohio to John and Allie (Byers) Ditch.
A 1938 graduate of Alliance High School, Dorothy worked as a Bookkeeper for fifteen years after her children were grown. She then worked at the Senior Center as a Secretary.
A member of the Alliance Salem United Methodist Church, Dorothy was a member of Grange for more than seventy years. She also belonged to the Stark County, Pomona, and State National Grange, and Washington Twp. Women's Club.
Survivors include daughters, Carol (Alfred) Bichsel of Homeworth, Janice Locke of Alliance, and Pam (Kevin) Palmer of Alliance; son, Larry (Patricia) Ramser of Alliance; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and one niece and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Ramser, whom she married June 30, 1940, and who died Nov. 4, 1987, one sister, Mildred Wallace, and son-in-law, Craig Locke, who died June 26, 2008.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Neil Orchard officiating Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Grange Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
