Dorothy Helen (Shobert) Robison

Dorothy Helen (Shobert) Robison, age 96, of Alliance, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Brookdale Senior Living.
She was born August 7, 1919, in Mimico, Ontario, Canada, to Harry Rex and Martha Jamison Shobert.
Dorothy graduated from Akron North High School and the University of Akron. She worked at Goodyear in Akron, the Telephone Company in Oklahoma City, and for 30 years was Co-Owner with her husband of the Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. in Bellaire, Ohio.
From 1947-2000 Mrs. Robison resided in Bellaire, Ohio, where she was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Pilot Club, Wheeling Woman's Club, Child Guidance Club, PTA, Eastern Star, and Band and Football Booster Clubs.
She enjoyed playing bridge, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles; and traveling with her friends.
Dorothy has resided in Alliance, Ohio since 2000. During her 9 year stay at Brookdale she has received wonderful care from the staff and most recently from Hospice.
Dorothy is survived by three daughters, Judy (Dr. Wayne) Denny of Alliance, Susan (Dr. Charles) Bauer of Batavia IL, and Dorothy Jean (Nathan) Smith of Anderson IN; and two sons, Dr. James (Dorothy) Robison of Lititz, PA, and John Charles (Jaimee) Robison of Little Hocking, OH. She has ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents; her brother, Paul Shobert; her sisters, Ruth Hill, and Harriet Parmentier; nephew, Rick Shobert; and her beloved husband of 49 years, James W. Robison Sr.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
Friends may also call on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home at 441 37th St. Bellaire, Ohio from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Dorothy's funeral will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Bliss officiating.
Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bellaire First United Methodist Church, 3402 Guernsey St. Bellaire, OH 43906.
