Dorothy M. Wagner, loving mother and grandmother, age 84 of Alliance, died at 3:20 a.m. Saturday October 23, 2004 at Canterbury Villa.
She was born March 1, 1920 in Alliance, Ohio to Ralph H. Cox Sr. and Anna P. (Dutton) Cox and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Wagner attended Alliance High School and was previously employed at the former Cope's Furniture in sales and also at the former O'Neils in Alliance.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of the Science Hill United Church of Christ; Alliance Senior Citizen Center and AARP.
Survivors include one son, John W. Wagner Jr. of Homeworth; two daughters Carolyn A. (Kenneth) Snode of Alliance, Judy M. ( Jerry) Kaforey of Akron; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; a sister in law Lucille Cox Brown of Alliance and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John W. Wagner Sr., whom she married September 29, 1936, and who died September 18, 1968, one brother Ralph H. Cox Jr., and a nephew Michael Cox.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Science Hill United Church of Christ with Pastor Barry Stirbens officiating. Friends may call from 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Abbey at Canterbury Villa.
