Dortha May Pierson, age 92 of Minerva, died at 4:42 p.m. May 2, 2006 at Minerva Elder Care.
She was born Sept. 4, 1913 in Alliance, Ohio to Irvin and Estella (Slusser) Bandy and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Pierson graduated from Alliance High School and worked for the former Lembright store, Persky's Bakery, and Martin's Bakery.
A member of Bethel United Church of Christ, she enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
Survivors include her one sister, Sharlet Faye Byrne of Minerva, and one brother, John W. Bandy of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Pierson, sisters, Evelyn Hunter, Burdella Monter, Helen Monter, Laura Koons, and brothers, Thomas Bandy and William Bandy.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Davis officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association, or the charity of the donor's choice.
