Douglas Earnest Litman, age 50, of Alliance, passed away at 7:45 a.m., Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Aultman Hospital.
He was born April 4, 1964, in Parma, Ohio, to Fredrick and Shirley J. (Doudgson) Litman.
Douglas was a 1982 graduate of Berea High School and employed as a truck driver with Flynn Transport Enterprises in Tawanda, Pennsylvania.
He enjoyed muscle cars, fast motorcycles, lifting weights and watching the Cleveland Browns.
Douglas was a United States Navy veteran having served on the U.S.S Eisenhower.
He is survived by his wife, Mary K. (Duro) Patterson Litman whom he married September 2, 1997; pet dogs, Ginger Gray and Oden; stepdaughter, Chalice (Cody) Brown of Alliance; two step-grandchildren, Sierra and Natalicia Brown; two brothers, Fred Litman and Scott (Brenda) Litman, both of Brookpark; two sisters, Nancy (William) Doubt of Columbia Station, and Cindy (James) Gibbs of Medina; and many nieces, nephews; grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Dodson, Chaplain, Alliance Community Hospital officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
