Douglas L. Mehl, age 66, of Alliance, died Wednesday September 23, 2009 at Altercare of Alliance.
He was born February 19, 1943 in Marlboro Township, Ohio to the late Luther F. and Zoe E. (Oyster) Mehl.
Doug attended Kent State University and graduated from Pittsburg Institute of Mortuary Science and was a former Vice President of Cassaday & Turkle Funeral Home. He worked as a funeral director for Cassaday & Turkle Funeral Home in Alliance, Arnold Funeral Home in Canton and the Almore & Grimshaw Funeral Home in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a former member of the Alliance Rotary Club, National Selected Morticians, and the Ohio Funeral Directors Association.
Survivors include two nieces Amy and Tracy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Janet Lekansky
Services will be held at noon on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with The Rev. Timothy Muse of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, Alliance; McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren; and Arnold Funeral Home, Canton.
