Douglas P. Shannon, age 70, of East Rochester, passed away at 11 a.m., Monday, October 21, 2013, at Davis Haven in Beloit.
He was born April 11, 1943, to Chauncey C. and Miriam J. (Rardon) Shannon.
A graduate of Alliance High School, he spent his lifetime doing what he loved most, working in the field of electronics, retiring from B&L Electronics of Salem.
There wasn't anything Doug couldn't fix from cars, appliances, TV's and all types of equipment. Through his years, all of his friends knew they could present any electrical or mechanical problem and he would always find a solution.
His beloved home, in East Rochester, was a testimony to the ingenious way he developed his own comfort and peace.
He is survived by two sisters, Maureen Shannon Smith of Alliance and Kristy Shannon (Thomas) Corkran of Lynchburg, VA; two nephews, Chris (Kelley) Stillwagon of Louisville and Troy (Amanda) Haidet of Conway, South Carolina; niece, Erin Shannon Barker of Alliance; aunt, Lee Wachsmuth of Homeworth; cousin, Heidi Muica of Jackson; two great-nephews; and five great-nieces.
