Dr. John T. Kinsey, age 68, of Alliance died at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at Arbors of Canton.
He was born May 17, 1941 in Alliance to Israel W. and Mildred (Adams) Kinsey.
A graduate of Alliance High School, John attended Mt. Union College and was a graduate of Pacific University in Oregon where he received his Doctorate in Optometry. John had a private practice and was an optometrist for 35 years.
John was a member of the Alliance Rotary Club, and the American Optometric Association. He enjoyed sailing and working within the community.
Survivors include his two sons, John Scott (Karen) Kinsey of Barberton and Brian Adams Kinsey of Canton; one grandson, Ian Scott Kinsey and two sisters, Margaret (James) Rodman of Alliance, and Carolyn Long of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Josephine Paterson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Cash-Burless officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday. A private interment will be held at Alliance City Cemetery, Saturday, May 30, 2009.
