Duane F. Weaver, age 90, of Sebring, passed away at 8:51 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2011, at Crandall Medical Center.
He was born September 23, 1920, in Hanoverton, Ohio, to Henry Frank and Lela (Sanor) Weaver.
A graduate of Minerva High School, Mr. Weaver previously worked at Fairmount Cemetery and Armour for 30 years, before retiring from Sancap.
Mr. Weaver was a member of Alliance First Friends Church, where he was a former usher, treasurer and member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific. Duane enjoyed gardening, trains, woodworking, and fixing most anything.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Naomi (Aufrance) Weaver, whom he married January 21, 1949; children, Susan (Joel) Arico, of Casper, Wy.; Jayne (Gene) Statti, of Canfield, and Dan (Faith) Weaver, of Alliance; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, VaLoise Willis, of Sebring.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Sandra Pittenger.
Services will be held at 11 am. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Alliance First Friends Church with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Family will receive friends at the Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave., Alliance, Oh. from 6-8 pm. on Wednesday.
