Earl Roar, age 86 of Alliance, died at his home at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday March 30, 2005.
He was born August 19, 1918 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to Logan and Minnie (Barker) Roar.
Mr. Roar was employed as a truck driver for Alliance Clay Products. He was a member of Alliance Freewill Baptist Church.
A U.S. Army WWII veteran, Mr. Roar served during the Asiatic Pacific Theater, and was the recipient of three bronze stars.
He is survived by his wife, Aileene Gracie Boggs Roar, whom he married April 2, 1949, one son, Lonnie (Diana) Lucas of Alliance, one daughter, Deborah K. (Robert) Morrison of Alliance, grandsons, Larry (Tina) Lucas of East Rochester and Timothy (Krystal) Roar of Alliance, granddaughter, Tracy (Curt) Edwards of Louisville, great-granddaughters, Megan and Morgan Lucas, and Danielle Edwards, one brother, Raymond (Geraline) Roar of Grahn, Kentucky, one sister, Mary Madeline (Gene) Lewis of Vanceburg, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Glen Roar, Talmadge "Joe" Roar and Stanley Roar, and one sister, Mearl Hornsby.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the services at the church. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Alliance Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmie Holbrook and Assistant Pastor Garlan Carter officiating. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Alliance Freewill Baptist Church
