Edgar L. Hall Sr.

Edgar L. Hall Sr., age 88, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on November 28, 2023.

Edgar (Ed) was born on June 28, 1935 in Canton, OH to Guy and Marie Hall.

He grew up in Canton until moving to Marlboro Township over 55 years ago where he raised his family.   

Ed served honorably in the United States Army, serving in peacetime Germany at the same time as Elvis (although, not surprisingly, they never met)

Ed had four loves in his life: God, his family, his country, and THE Ohio State Buckeyes.

He was active in his church where, along with his wife Sandra, he devoted countless hours helping those with clothing or food needs through fundraising, packing meals, mission trips, whatever needed done to help others.

Ed hauled mud for his brother-in-law, worked at Teledyne Monarch Rubber for 20 years and stocked shelves until he retired.

His infectious smile, his laugh and the need to hug those he loved and cared for will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra F. Hall; children, Marie (George) Fortune, Edgar L. (Ellen) Hall Jr., Stephen E. (Sandy) Hall, Guy R. (Carol) Hall, Jason G. Hall (Melissa Bogunovich); sixteen grandchildren, Chad Fortune, Tiffany Green, Andrea Johnson, Jon Fox, Abigail Fox, Lindsay Hall, Stephen (Mallory) Hall, Jacob (Hope) Hall, Brian (Nick) Hall, Derek (Samuel) Hall, Micah Hall, Caleb (Brooke) Hall, Maelee Hall, Garet Bogunovich, Giana Bogunovich, and Gylian Bogunovich; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; ten siblings; the mother of his children, Barbara (Yoder) Hall; and granddaughter, Mary Fox.

Visitation will be at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Sunday, December 3^rd from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at Greenwood Christian Church 4425 Frazer Ave NW Canton, OH 44709 on Monday, December 4^th at 11:00 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior to the service.  Tony Amerine with be officiating.
