Edith Hubbs

January 30, 1917 — August 6, 2005

Edith M. Phillips Hubbs, age 88 of Alliance, died at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 6th, 2005 at Green Meadows Care Center.
She was born Jan. 30, 1917 in Gustavus, OH and lived in the Alliance area since 1930.
She attended Deerfield and Alliance Public Schools. Mrs. Hubbs worked as a Silk Presser for the former Energine Dry Cleaners in Alliance for 25 years.
Mrs. Hubbs attended Alliance Baptist Temple and was a member of AARP and the Jolly Sixties.
She is survived by her son, Gerald L. (June) Kessler of Alliance, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and eight great-great- grandchildren.
Edith was preceded in death by her mother Alice M. Shaw and her father, her first husband, Oliver "Toby" Phillips, whom she married July 20, 1966, and who died Aug. 4, 1977, two daughters; Lois M. Cozart and Barbara Lippiatt, one great-great-grandson Jordan Hall and her former husband Charles Hubbs.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Payne officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alliance Baptist Temple, or the American Cancer Society.
