Edna Elvin Lamont, age 84, of Alliance, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born July 11, 1923 in Gravesend, County of Kent, England, to Cecil Henry and Florence May (Hare) Elvin and was an Alliance resident since 1966.
Edna received her education in England and was an Air Force Women's Auxiliary Veteran having served during World War II in England. She was employed as an Executive Secretary in the banking industry in England.
She attended Trinity Episcopal Church and was a member of the Alliance Woman's Club where she served on the Board of Directors, former President of the Tennysonian Club, former President of the YWCA and former Treasurer and two term President of the Alliance Flower Garden Club.
Edna is survived by cousins in England.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Richard H. Lamont whom she married April 8, 1967 and who died December 14, 1999.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Karin Himstedt officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Moundview Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
