Edward J. Gibson

Edward J. Gibson, age 89, of Alliance, passed away at 12:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born February 25, 1927, in Stonecold, West Virginia, to Tilburn Lee and Ida Jane (Beckner) Gibson, and has resided in Alliance since 1952.
Edward was employed by Transue and Williams Forge in Alliance and a member of Southside Church of God. He enjoyed traveling and visiting with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lela Marie (Garvin) Gibson whom he married February 28, 1948; one daughter, Betty Louise Julian of Mount Sterling, Kentucky and eight sons, Robert (Janice) Gibson and Evert (Mary) Gibson, both of Alliance, Bill (Dorothy) Gibson of Canton, Dale (Kathleen) Gibson of Minerva, David Lee (Susan) Gibson of Louisville, Roy Gibson of Alliance, Daryl (Christine) Gibson of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, Samuel (Cathy) Gibson and Gary Gibson both of Alliance; and 84 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at a later date.
