Edward F. McGuire

Edward F. McGuire, age 80, of Alliance (Maximo), passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at his home with his loving family.

He was born October 15, 1940 in Alliance, Ohio to Joseph and Lillian McGuire. Ed was a graduate of Alliance High School and served in the Army from 1963-1965, much of the time stationed in Germany. He worked at Morgan Engineering and Alliance Machine before starting his own business, McGuire House & Carpet Cleaning. He was a devoted member of Marlboro Christian Church and more recently Beechwood Christian Church. He enjoyed cycling, fishing and was an avid Star Trek fan.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his wife, Sara Beth, to whom he has been married to for 40 years; his step-daughters, Teri, Kimberly, Heather and Jill; six grandchildren, Devonte, Brandon, Marissa, Elizabeth, Jesse, and Gabrielle, and brother, Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Margaret and Patricia; and brother, Paul.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 9th from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Marlboro Cemetery, 13179 Marlboro Ave NE, Alliance 44601. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Jim McLoud. Interment will follow.
