Edward Wendell Moffett, age 91, of Alliance, passed away at his home at 5:06 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
He was born July 8, 1929 in Alliance, Ohio to Welty Moffett and Lina (Lower) Moffett.
A 1947 graduate of Alliance High School, Ed worked at B&W Tubular, then Alliance Drop Forge, and finally at the Alliance Sears Store.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was the recipient of 2 bronze stars.
He was a member of the Limaville Lions for 30 years, and former President. He served as a Lexington Trustee for 25 years, where he loved representing the people; he also enjoyed working with the Lexington Township Fire Department.
Ed liked eating in restaurants, woodworking, gardening, and he enjoyed 25 years of bike riding on the trails.
He will be loved and missed by his family, including his wife of 70 years, Shirley Ann (Yarian) Moffett, whom he married June 24, 1950, daughter, Debbie Skubiak, son Jerry (Sherry) Moffett; grandchildren, Melissa (Gary) Krenzer and their children, Rebecca, Brianna, and Brayden Andrew (Joanna) Franks, and their daughters, Shelby and Hadley; Ann Moffett, and Leigh (Alex) Martin; favorite nephew, Timothey (Rebecca) Byland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Jane Moffett Byland; and son-in-law, Chris Skubiak.
Service date and time are pending at this time.
Interment with military honors will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
