Edward Russell Sr. 86, owner of Russell's Blueberry Farm, and formerly of Alliance, died Wednesday June 18, 2003 at Hopewell Health Care Center in Sumter, South Carolina.
He was born in Rochester, New York to John and Veronica (Stessel) Rozinski, and lived most of his life in the Atwater and Alliance areas.
Mr. Russell worked as a Tool and Die Maker at General Motors Lordstown Assembly Plant for 13 years, until retiring in 1980. He also worked at the former United Tool and Die Company in Salem. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Russell joined the 3 C's (Civilian Conservation Corp.) during the Depression.
Survivors include one daughter Rosemarie (Lonnie) Hayhurst of Alliance, one son Edward J. (Kathleen) Russell, formerly of Atwater, five grandchildren, Mark, Troy, Dana, Melissa and John; three great grandsons, one brother Al Rozinski, formerly of Limaville, and one sister Edith Wojteszek of Canton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Josephine D. (Cotton) whom he married Sept. 28, 1940, and who died April 12, 1995.
Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
