Edwin C. Thomas

Edwin C. Thomas, age 65, of Alliance, passed away at 4:10 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014, at his home.
He was born August 6, 1948, in Erwin, Tennessee, to Don and Nancy (Shelton) Thomas.
Ed was a graduate of Alliance High School and retired from Republic Steel after 27 years.
He loved to play pool, chess and target shoot, and watching old westerns. He coached Hot Stove Baseball and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Anthony "Tony" (Jill) Thomas, Michel (George) Kish, Joie (Kevin) Layne and Jeremy (Gwynne) Thomas; grandchildren, Morgan and Jerian Thomas, Nathan Kish, Anthony and Jonah Thomas, Grace Kish, Lochlan Layne, Noah Thomas, Jaci Thomas, Ellie Kish, Maeve Layne and Jeremiah Thomas; sister, Wendy Angel; and brothers, Tim and Keith Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Roger and Jack Thomas.
Services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service.
